It is interesting how during introspection I have often looked at my past comparing it to my present. Only today I realized that I am actually comparing a 27 year old with a 16 year old and that also the same person.
Sometimes I felt that the 16 year old was better than me but while that may have been a feeling generated out of a more stable environment I know that that 16 year old was in no way better. The litmus test: If I was today put in the same stable environment I would achieve ‘at least’ as much and make some of the same mistakes perhaps, albeit fewer of them.
This then implies that I have been growing for the last 27 years if not steadily then at times through a period of flux at the end I have still been growing.
Today then at the age of 27 I stand with what I am with what I have accomplished. I should therefore not compare myself with any time in the past, just think of how to make the best of the road ahead.
